With a focus working with Chief Risk Officers and Enterprise Risk Management leaders, Jim’s recent projects include a study titled, “Using ERM to Improve Strategic Decisions.” Jim helped collect survey data for a research project on the state of the ERM function. Examples of his work include helping an ERM leader review a company’s risk policy and comparing ERM processes across similar companies. Prior to working on CEB Risk Management, Jim has held a variety of advisory and research roles across the terrains of IT Infrastructure, Tax, Treasury, and Investor Relations.
Outside of work, Jim is active in his children’s elementary school parent teachers association. As an executive committee member, Jim helps oversee a 120-student afterschool program that is sponsored by the parent association. Jim is active on the philanthropic side of the business and completed a pro bono project for the LUNGevity Foundation, a Lung Cancer advocacy non-profit. The pro bono project included development of new tools, resources, and a web site uniquely designed for Lung Cancer Caregivers. These are family members and friends of those stricken with Lung Cancer.
Prior to joining CEB, Jim worked in various capital market and risk management-related roles in the Chicago area. During graduate studies, Jim helped University of Chicago faculty on Financial Economics research projects such as understanding anticipating initial public offering performance and comparing companies in emerging markets. His academic degrees include a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration.
