A former Secret Service Agent and US Army Veteran, Rick Patterson serves as the Head of Risk & Standards at Bridgewater Associates located in Westport, Connecticut.

Bridgewater is the largest hedge fund in the world managing approximately $160 billion in global investments for a wide array of institutional clients, including foreign government and central banks, corporate and public pension funds, endowments and foundations.  In that capacity, he leads an Operational Risk Management team with the goal of identifying and mitigating cyber, physical, staff and business continuity risks.

Prior to Bridgewater, Rick served as the Director of Information Security, Compliance and Privacy at PetSmart from January 2011 through April 2014.  He joined the Phoenix-based chain of pet stores after a five year stint as the Director of Security for Sidley Austin.

Rick holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice from California State University-Fullerton, and an M.S. in Computer, Network and Information Security from DePaul University.
